Step-by-Step Guide: Creating Q-Play User Groups for Efficient User Rights Management

Create user groups in Q-Play

This guide describes how to create a Q-Play user group

User groups are used to assign rights to multiple users at once.


Example

Below is an example of a user group, which in this case is defined as "Store employees".

If the user is a member of this group, the user has access to the following: all series groups, selected player groups, all media folders and lists and group templates / Image in Apps playlists.

Create a user group:

  1. Log in to Q-Play

  2. Click on User menu at the top left and select Account settings

  3. Select the Users tab

  4. Press the New Group button


  5. Enter the desired name of the user group.

  6. Select Parent Group. A Parent group can be defined that overrides the columns set to "Inherited". Or define the access rights in the columns and press Save

  7. Your user group is now created.
