Introduction

Moving from Q-Play V1 to Q-Play V2 gives you an improved experience and a more future-proof platform, with new and improved features that make it easier to manage your media and build presentations.

The move takes four steps: download your files from V1, create an account in V2, upload the files to V2 and finally move your players. Follow the steps in order so your screens are only without content for a very short time.

1. Find your files in Q-Play V1

Log in to Q-Play V1 and click Mediebibliotek (Media Library) in the menu on the left. This is where all your images and videos are stored, organised in folders.

2. How to download your files from V1

1. Click the file. The file gets a green tick, and Valgte filer: 1 (Selected files) appears at the top with a row of icons.
2. Click the download icon. It is the fourth icon in the toolbar at the top. The file is saved to your computer.
3. Repeat for the next files. The download icon only appears when one file is selected, so files must be downloaded one at a time.

Tip: Save the files in folders on your computer with the same names as in V1. That makes it easy to recreate the structure in V2.

3. Create your Q-Play V2 account

1. Open Q-Play V2. Go to app.q-play.io.
2. Click Create Account. The link is below the login fields and takes you to the page where you create a new account.
3. Follow the instructions. Fill in your details and set up your new account.

4. How to upload your files to V2

1. Click Media Library. You find it in the menu on the left in Q-Play V2.
2. Create your folders. Click New folder at the top right if you want to recreate your folders from V1.
3. Click Upload. The button is at the top right. Select the files you downloaded from V1. You can also drag and drop the files from your computer into the Media Library.

Your media is now ready in V2. Build your presentation before you move your players, so content is ready as soon as the screen is connected. See General information about presentations and the guide to the Media Library.

5. How to delete a player in Q-Play V1

A player can only be connected to one system. That is why it must be deleted in V1 before it can be added in V2. Once it is deleted, the screen shows a new 6-digit code that you need in V2.

1. Click PlayControl. You find it in the menu on the left in Q-Play V1.
2. Click the player. The player window opens.

3. Click Delete. The button is at the bottom left of the player window. In the Danish interface it is called Slet.

4. Confirm the deletion. Click the green button to confirm.
5. Write down the code. Go to the screen and write down the 6-digit code that is now shown.

To delete several players at once, choose the list view at the top right in PlayControl, select the players and click the bin icon. See also How to delete a player in Q-Play.

6. How to add the player in Q-Play V2

1. Click Players. You find it in the menu on the left in Q-Play V2.
2. Click Add new player. The button is at the top right.

3. Enter the code. Type the 6-digit code from the screen in the Enter connect code field at the bottom of the window.
4. Click Next. Give the player a name and choose which group it belongs to.
5. Wait up to 20 seconds. The player then appears under Players.
