Introduction

This installation guide is designed to assist you with the proper setup of your IOT PowerPlug, a smart device that automates the shutting down of power-consuming products based on Q-Play scheduling.

Requirements Before Installation

  1. 1 x Computer with Wi-Fi access.
  1. 1 x Power socket


Safety Precautions

  1. The IOT PowerPlug must be installed securely and be inaccessible to unauthorized persons. If in doubt, consult a qualified electrician.
  1. Avoid use on devices requiring controlled shutdown (e.g., computers with Windows OS), as it may cause damage over time

1) Configuration

To ensure the IOT PowerPlug functions correctly, it must first be connected to the internet.

Setting up Internet on the Device:

  1. Follow this guide to set up the internet on the device. Connect IOT Product to network

Connecting to Q-Play:

  1. Then follow this guide to connect the IOT PowerPlug to Q-Play. Forbind IOT produkt til Q-Play

It is important that step 1 is completed before beginning step 2

2) Installation

After configuration, it's time to physically install the PowerPlug.

Placement of PowerPlug:

  1. Place the IOT PowerPlug between the power socket and the device to be controlled.

Check Compatibility:

  1. Ensure that the device controlled by PowerPlug can tolerate being shut down without a prior shutdown process.

Note: It is not recommended to shut down, for example, a Windows computer with the IOT PowerPlug, as the device may suffer damage over time.





Troubleshooting

  1. PowerPlug does not connect to Wi-Fi: Check if other devices can connect to the network. Restart the PowerPlug and try again.
  2. PowerPlug does not respond: Perform a reset of the device and go through the configuration process again.
  3. Problem connecting to Q-Play: Make sure you have the latest version of Q-Play installed. Check your internet connection.
