This guide will show you how to integrate an Excel file stored in Microsoft SharePoint into Q-Play, so you can pull data directly from the Excel file into your presentation and display it on a screen.
Setting up the SharePoint Excel Integration
Using the integration in the DesignTool
Before you start the integration process, make sure have a user in ur SharePoint account with no (MFA) - Check our guide here:
In the left-hand menu of Q-Play, click on “Integrations”.
Click the “New Integration” button in the top right corner.
From the list of available integrations, select “Excel SharePoint - Online Document”.
Enter a descriptive name for the integration so you can easily identify it later.
Note: In the “Account name” field, enter the name from your SharePoint URL.

Click “Login” and enter your SharePoint credentials to allow Q-Play access.
→ Your login credentials are encrypted and securely stored in the backend.
Click on “Settings” in the integration panel.
Under “Scheduled Scripts”, click the “+” button to add a new script.
In the “Script” dropdown, select “Report”.
Enter:
Name: A name for the script
Refresh: How often the Excel report should refresh (e.g., hourly, daily)
In the “URL” field, paste the full URL of your Excel file in SharePoint.
Enter the name of the Excel Sheet "TAB"
Click “Save” to store the integration.
Click “Integration Status”.
Wait a few minutes for the integration to be fully initialized.
In the integration status view, click the “Play” button to test loading the Excel file.
If the test shows an error:
Click the document icon (marked in red).
In the left-hand menu, click on “DesignTool”.
Click on the appp you want to use on the presentation
In your presentation, click on “Data Sources”.
Select the SharePoint Excel integration you created earlier.
Select the worksheet and data range in the Excel file you want to display.
Click “Publish” to publish the presentation to your screen.

Solution: Your Account Name is the part of your SharePoint URL immediately after https://

Solution:
Check “Script Logs” under the integration for detailed error messages.
Use the “Highlight” feature to pinpoint where the error occurred.

Solution: Yes! Simply add more scripts under “Scheduled Scripts”.

Solution: All credentials are encrypted and stored securely in Q-Play’s backend.

Solution: The content will update automatically once you publish the presentation linked to a screen.

Ensure your Excel file is shared properly in SharePoint (accessible via direct link).
Verify that the URL ends with .xlsx – Q-Play only supports Excel Online files.
If you get access denied errors, try logging in again and confirm the necessary permissions.
