Introduction
When installing an IoT Door Control Relay, it is important that the device is mounted correctly according to the desired usage scenario. This guide describes how a recommended installation is performed when the device is intended to be used to open a door. The utilization of the IoT Door Control Relay is limited only by imagination.
Once the installation is complete, the device will have a potential-free relay (Dry Contact). This is the component that should be installed along with, for example, door control or similar systems. This guide describes how to proceed with the installation up to an active potential-free relay.
How It Works
When a guest completes a check-in, a signal will be sent to the IoT Door Control Relay, which will activate a potential-free relay for the number of seconds the door should remain open. The duration for which the door should be open can be adjusted by NordicScreen. Contact NordicScreen for further information. The default setting is 10 seconds.
Recommendation
For the device to function as intended, the IoT Door Control Relay and the door control must be connected. This connection should be made by a service technician from the door manufacturer.
At the end of this guide, there is a description of the work that needs to be done in the door control system.
1. Before Installation
Before installation, it is important to ensure that the IoT Door Control Relay is installed in close proximity to the control box it is intended to manage.
During installation, the following items should be available at the installation site:
1 x IoT Door Control Relay
1 x DK Power Plug 230v
Remember to arrange an appointment with the door solution manufacturer or a system administrator with the necessary competencies. See point 3.
2. During Installation
1. Mount the device near the location where the potential-free relay will be used. For example, under the ceiling near the door to be controlled.

4. Place the cable with the potential-free relay accessible to the technician who will perform point 3. (3)
Call NordicScreen to ensure that the device is connected to the network. Provide the following information:
- DeviceID (Found on the device)
- Serial Number (Found on the device)
- Customer number where the installation is taking place
3. After Installation
The technical integration of door control and IoT Door Control Relay requires a service technician familiar with the product the IoT Door Control is intended to manage.
If the device is intended to control a Tormax sliding door, it is recommended to contact Tormax directly.
