The Web Automation view is not showing in the Q-Play Editor.
1.1 Can't see what you've recorded with Web Automation in DesignTool? When you take a screenshot of your screen, is the image completely white?
If you can relate to this issue, you've come to the right article.
Web Automation is not a regular app like the "News" app; it's a workflow that allows you to record content from a website outside of Q-Play. As a result, after recording, you'll notice the Web Automation logo overlaying your recording. The recording will only become visible when you set it up in the player.
The same applies to screenshots. Even though there's something on the screen, a screenshot may appear white.
When creating a recording, there are certain guidelines to follow:
Always type accurately.
Always input information precisely. If you enter your email or password incorrectly, you'll need to start over. Note that the "Backspace" and "Delete" buttons are disabled. Although they visually show deletion, the script itself stops recording.
More clicks mean longer loading times.
More clicks result in longer loading times. If you're displaying a dashboard, we recommend using the specific "URL" address instead of "Powerbi.com." This ensures that the view remains concise and avoids unnecessary delays when presenting content.
Not all websites are compatible with Web Automation.
In some cases, the Web Automation view on your screen may not match the recording. Web Automation eliminates the need to log in to desired sites. However, some companies block the use of such tools on their websites, potentially affecting apps like Burp Suite Recorder.
2.1 Can't display the recorded website?
If your dashboard's website doesn't work with Web Automation, follow these steps:
- Record the script.
- Open TextEdit or Notepad.
- Paste the script (it's automatically copied when the recording stops).
- Identify and correct the error.
As the last point suggests, you need to access the code, identify the error, and correct it. This process requires IT skills and coding knowledge.
2.2 Can Nordiscreen help?
Certainly, we can. Our approach doesn't differ from step 2.1, but our developers will review and correct the script.
Since we can't estimate precisely how long it will take to identify, correct, and integrate the solution into the view, this task is billed per hour. Nordicscreen's rate is 990 DKK per hour.
