Working with Integrations in Q-Play

Working with Integrations in Q-Play

This guide covers how to find the Integrations section, how to set up a new integration, and what you can do once an integration is set up. It's a general guide — the specific configuration steps for each individual integration (e.g. Grafana, SharePoint Docs, Instagram) are covered in their own dedicated guides.

1. Finding the Integrations Screen

You can get to the Integrations section from the Dashboard in two ways:

  • Click Integrations in the left-hand sidebar menu.
  • Click the Integrations summary card on the Dashboard (shows how many integrations are currently active).

Both take you to the same place.

2. The Integrations Overview Screen

This screen lists all the integrations you've already set up.

If nothing is set up yet, you'll see an empty state prompting you to click "Add Integration" to get started.

Once you have integrations set up, each one appears as a card showing:

  • The integration's icon.
  • An Active status badge.
  • The integration name.
  • The provider name and version number.
  • A Configure button, which takes you into that integration's own detail page.

At the top of the screen you also have:

  • A search bar to find a specific integration by name.
  • A Filters button.
  • A view toggle (switch between grid and list view).
  • The green "+ Add Integration" button, used to connect something new.

3. Setting Up a New Integration

Step 1: Browse available integrations

Click "+ Add Integration" on the Integrations overview screen. This opens the "Browse Integrations" window, showing all integrations available to connect.

Each entry shows an icon, name, version, and a short description. The list is searchable and paginated if there are many options.

Step 2: Select an integration

Click on the integration you want to set up (e.g. Grafana, Clever, SharePoint Docs). This opens a setup flow specific to that integration.

Step 3: Follow the setup flow

Every integration has its own setup flow, and the number of steps varies — some integrations only need 1 step, while others may have 4 or more.

Regardless of how many steps there are:

  • The first step is always naming your integration — a name is pre-filled, but you can change it (useful if you're setting up the same integration more than once)
  • You move forward using a "Next" button on each step
  • On the final step, the button changes to "Create Integration"

The exact fields and steps in between (e.g. entering credentials, choosing settings) differ per integration — see that integration's specific guide for details.

Step 4: Confirmation

Once you click "Create Integration", you'll see a success notification ("Integration created successfully") and be taken directly into the new integration's own page.

4. Inside an Integration

After setup, you land on the integration's own detail page. This is also where you end up if you click "Configure" on an integration's card from the overview screen.

This page includes:

  • A back arrow to return to the Integrations overview list.
  • The integration's icon, name, and Active status.
  • A unique ID (with a copy icon).
  • A short description, with a "Read more" link — this takes you to that integration's own dedicated guide.
  • A Settings button.
  • A version indicator and dropdown.
  • Two tabs: Overview and Add Job.

Jobs

Each integration works with "jobs" — what a job does and how to configure one is specific to each integration and covered in that integration's own guide. If none are set up yet, you'll see an "Add Job" button to create your first one.

5. Integration Settings

Clicking Settings opens a panel (sliding in from the right) with the same kind of information you filled in during setup, just presented differently.

The only field guaranteed to be there for every integration is the editable Name. Everything else in this panel is integration-specific and will vary — some integrations may also show fields like Timezone, Language, or a Credentials section (e.g. authentication type, authorization button), but not all integrations have these.

Changes are saved using the "Save Integration" button at the bottom.

6. Managing Versions

Every integration has a version number, shown next to the Settings button. Clicking it opens a list of Available Versions.

  • When you first set up an integration, it's automatically on the latest version.
  • Versioning is manual — nothing updates automatically. This is intentional: settings and configuration can differ from version to version, so automatically upgrading everyone could unexpectedly break an existing setup. Instead, you choose when (and whether) to upgrade.
  • If a newer version becomes available later, the version button shows an "Upgrade" badge; expanding it lets you upgrade to any newer version.
  • Older versions are also listed, each with a "Downgrade" button, in case you need to roll back.
