Ziik Intranet News Feed – App Guide

Ziik Intranet News Feed – App Guide

This guide shows you how to use the Ziik app to show your Ziik intranet news feed on your screens. Each post is shown as a card with the author, title, a preview of the text, and the number of likes and comments.

The app shows the posts fetched by the Ziik integration, so set that up first. See the Ziik Intranet News Feed Integration Guide.

Find the Ziik app in Presentations and click it to add it to your slide. See Working with apps in Q-Play if this is your first time adding an app.

1. Choose your data source

You only need this step if you have more than one Ziik integration or more than one News Feed job. In that case, open Data sources and choose the integration and job the app should show.

If you have one Ziik integration with one News Feed job, the app uses it automatically and Data sources is empty. Skip to the next step.

2. Configure the template settings

Show posts as decides which posts the app shows:

  • Only the newest posts – shows the newest posts. This is the default.
  • Carousel through all posts – rotates through all the posts fetched by the integration.

Posts on screen sets how many post cards are shown at once. The default is 3. The cards share the height of the app equally.

Carousel interval (seconds) sets the speed of the carousel, in seconds. It is only shown when Carousel through all posts is selected. The default is 8.

Use these settings to choose what each card shows:

  • Show avatar – shows the author's profile picture. If the author has no picture, a circle in the accent colour with the first letter of their name is shown instead. Off by default.
  • Show images in cards – shows the post's image. Off by default.
  • Show likes & comments – shows the number of likes and comments on each card. On by default.

Finally, choose the colours and font:

  • Accent Color – the colour of the circle shown when an author has no profile picture.
  • Text Color – the colour of the text.
  • Font – the font used in the app. The default is Roboto.

3. Configure the app settings

Under App Settings:

  • Language – the language of the text showing how long ago a post was published, for example 3 days ago. Choose between Danish, English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Norwegian, Swedish and Polish.
  • Fetch new data every – how often the app fetches the latest posts from the integration.
