Microsoft 365 Files – App Guide

Microsoft 365 Files – App Guide

This guide shows you how to use the Microsoft 365 Files app in the DesignTool to display a SharePoint document on your screens. Before you start, make sure you have set up the Microsoft 365 Files integration and that at least one job has run successfully — see the Microsoft 365 Files Integration Guide.

If you haven't added an app in Presentations before, see Working with apps in Q-Play first.

1. Add the Microsoft 365 Files app to your slide

Search for "Microsoft 365 Files" in the Apps panel and add it to your slide.

2. Choose a template

Under General, click "Choose template" and select the template that matches your document type: PowerPoint, Word, or Excel.

3. Connect the app to your integration

In the right-hand settings panel, under Data sources:

  • Set Integration to your Microsoft 365 Files integration.
  • Set Source to the job you want to display.

4. Configure the template settings

The available settings depend on the document type you selected.

PowerPoint

  • Slider interval — how many seconds each page is shown before moving to the next.
  • Slider range — which pages to display. Enter a range like 1-10 to show pages 1 through 10, or a comma-separated list like 1,4,8 to show only those specific pages.

Word

  • Page interval — how many seconds each page is shown before moving to the next.
  • Page range — which pages to display. Works the same way as the PowerPoint slider range above.

Excel

  • Tab index — which tab (sheet) from the Excel file to display.

5. Done!

Your app will now display the document on your screen, cycling through pages according to your settings.
