How to Display Grafana Reports in Q-Play



Introduction

With the Grafana integration in Q-Play, you can easily display your Grafana dashboards directly on your screens. This allows you to present real-time data from your preferred data sources in a visually appealing way. In this guide, we will walk you through how to set up the integration and upload your Grafana reports to Q-Play, so you can quickly display your data to your audience.

Step-by-step guide


Part 1: Create Grafana Integration

1. Go to Q-Play V2 and log in with your credentials.

2. In the left-hand menu, click on “Integrations”.



3. Click the “New Integration” button in the top right corner.



4. Select “Grafana” from the list of available integrations.


5. Give the integration a descriptive name so you can easily recognize it later.


6. Choose how often Q-Play should take a snapshot of the Grafana dashboard, e.g., every hour, daily, etc.


7. Click the login button and enter your Grafana account credentials to grant Q-Play access. Note: Your username and password are encrypted in our backend, ensuring that no one can access your information.


8. Click the “+” icon to add a report from your Grafana account.


9. Select the report and give it a name so it can easily be found under the Grafana app in Q-Play.


10. Enter the URL, but only up to the first “/” example: https://4f961295-e749-4c37-ba5d-21bdafd4f61c.dashboard.obs.fr-par.scw.cloud/. Click “Save” to save your integration.


11. Once the integration is successfully created, you will be able to see an image of your Grafana dashboard directly in Q-Play.


12. If something goes wrong, you can check the “Script logs” to see what happened or where an error occurred.


13. Under “Settings” you can change the URL or update other settings for the integration.


Note: It may take a few minutes for the integration to be fully ready for use.

Part 2: Upload Reports in the Q-Play Grafana App

1. In the left-hand menu, click on “DesignTool” to access the design tool in Q-Play.


2. Click on the presentation where you want to upload the Grafana app.

3. Choose the integration you want to display on the screen.


4. Select which dashboard to show from the integration.


5. When you are satisfied with your settings and your layout, press “Publish” to display it on your screen.
