How to Use the Video App in Q-Play: Complete Setup Guide

How to use video app in Q-Play

Introduction

The Video App in Q-Play allows you to add and play videos directly on your screens. This is an effective way to convey messages, showcase products, or share visually engaging content with your viewers. This guide will help you add a video from the media library, ensure proper playback, and publish the finished design to your screens.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Find video-app

Start by opening Q-Play on your device and finding the “Video App” in the app library. Click the app to begin the setup.

2. Open Medialibrary

With the video-app selected (select it by tapping the app on the slide), you can choose a video from the media library. Tap "Explore Media Library" in the section on the right.

3. Inset video

The media library opens, and you can now select the video you want to display on the screen. Select it and then click "Select". Your chosen video is now added to the presentation.

4. Video plays correctly

To ensure the entire video plays correctly, change the Playback setting to “Change slide at video end.” This ensures that the screen won’t switch to the next slide until the video finishes playing.

5. Publish video

Once you’re satisfied with the setup and the video has been correctly added, press “Publish” to make your design and the video visible on your screens.

Transparent background in videos

To allow a transparent background in video to show, follow these steps:
  1. The format must be WebM (not all player types support this format).
  2. When done uploading to the media library, select the video in the video app.
  3. Disable video optimization in the General settings of the video app.

Solution: Verify that the changes have been properly published, and check that the device is connected to the internet. If the issue persists, try restarting the device.
