Installation of Q-Play - Windows

This guide will tell you everything you need to know on your Windows device. 


How to install q-play.
NB: Q-Play Windows is only supported for Windows 10 and up.

Please note: All settings that can put the screen to sleep, enable screen saver or other similar features must be disabled on the computer.

Prerequisites

  1. Make sure the display scaling is set to 100%, otherwise some APPs might not scale correctly.
    1. Connect a mouse to the player.
    2. Right on the desktop, and select "Display Settings".
    3. Make sure the "Scale" is set to 100%, hit the save button and close down the window.

Installing Q-Play

  1. Log in to Q-Play > then go to PlayControl and click on "New Player" > Here you can download Q-Play for Windows. Download the file on the PC you'll be using as a player.
  2. When Q-Play is downloaded, you can open it. If you're using Google Chrome then you can open it, at the bottom of the screen. If you're using Firefox/Edge then you can see it in the top right corner. The file will be called something like: Q-Play_win_vx.x.x_setup.exe
  3. A window will now pop up asking if you'll allow Q-Play to make changes to your pc. Click on Yes
  4. Click on the Windows Logo at the bottom left corner and restart PC.
  5. Your Windows device will now show something similar to the picture below. (NB: If you have multiple displays connected to your PC, then the program will show on the primary screen)

  6. Your Player is now ready to show content!

NB: The guide is made for Windows 10 and up. 


Uninstalling Q-Play on Windows.

  1. Start by connection a mouse and keyboard to the Windows player.
    1. Press F4 (FN+F4) to close down Q-Play.
  2. Go to the search bar of Windows in the bottom of the screen - if you dont have a search bar, go to the start menu by pressing the Windows icon.
  3. Search for "Control Panel", and open it.
    1. Make sure you are in the Control Panel menu, and not an underlying menu.
  4. Find the menu "Remove a program", and click on it.
  5. In this list, find Q-Play, and uninstall it.
