Installation - Q-Play on Maxhub

Introduction

Q-Play is a software program that allows you to display your info screen designs directly on your Maxhub screen. With Q-Play, you can create and manage exciting content that captures the attention of your guests or colleagues in a simple and effective way. This guide will lead you through the process of downloading, installing, and configuring Q-Play on your Maxhub device, so you can easily present your designs and messages.

Notes:

  1. Updates: Ensure that the screen's operating system is updated to the latest version to avoid compatibility issues.

Before Installation


Before starting the installation, it is important to be well-prepared. The following are necessary:
  1. USB Stick: A USB stick is required to transfer the Q-Play APK file to the Maxhub screen.
  2. Network Connection: Decide if you will connect your Maxhub screen via Wi-Fi or a cable connection. It is recommended to use a cable connection to ensure a stable and secure connection.
  3. File: Download the Q-Play APK file (follow the section "Installation of Q-Play APK File").
  4. Placement: Choose a location for your Maxhub screen where it is easily visible at eye level, adjusted for optimal angle to avoid glare, and in an environment with controlled temperature and humidity to ensure durability.

Installation of Q-Play APK File:

1. Open Q-Play Editor: Open the Q-Play editor on your PC and log in with your details.
2. Navigate the Menu: In the menu on the left, select "PlayControl".
3. Inside PlayControl: Click on "New Player" in the top right corner.
4. Download APK: Press the "Download" button next to the Android image to download the APK file.
5. File Transfer: Open "transfer" on your device, and transfer the APK file to your USB stick.

During Installation


Before proceeding, it is essential to ensure all elements are ready for a seamless installation process:

1. On your Maxhub screen, navigate to settings and select Wi-Fi setup.


2. Ensure that Wi-Fi is turned on. The screen will automatically start searching for available networks. Find and select the desired network from the list.


3. Enter the Wi-Fi password for the selected network and press "Connect" to connect the screen to the internet.


4. Navigate back to the main settings, select "System" and then "Date & Time" to configure the date and time correctly.


5. Turn on "Use 24-Hour Format" to use 24-hour time display on the screen.


6. Select the correct time zone, in this case, "CMT+02:00 Berlin", to ensure the time is displayed correctly.


7. Select "Denmark" as the region to ensure correct regional settings. Now press the back button on the remote to return to the main menu.


8. Navigate to the startup and shutdown settings under system settings.


9. Set "Auto Power Off" to "Never" to prevent the screen from turning off automatically.


10. Turn off "Power Off Reminder" to avoid reminders to turn off the screen.


11. Navigate to advanced settings for further configuration.


12. Allow the installation of apps from unknown sources by enabling "Install Unknown Apps".


13. Confirm your settings by pressing "Confirm".


14. Set "Auto Standby" to "OFF" to prevent the screen from going into standby mode automatically.


15. When the USB stick is inserted, select it as the input source on the screen.


16. Navigate to the file on the USB stick and select it to begin the installation.


17. Confirm the installation by pressing "Install".


After Installation


Once you see the connect code on the screen, as shown in the picture below, Q-Play is installed on the screen and is ready to be connected to a Q-Play account.

To add a design to the screen, follow these steps:
1. Log in to your Q-Play account where the device should be added.
2. Go to the player section.
3. Enter the 6-digit Connect Code from the screen into Q-Play.

Closing Pro Mode Down


You may need to leave Pro Mode or the Q-Play app for several reasons, such as if you need to update the screen's software, change settings not available in Pro Mode, or if you wish to use the screen for purposes other than Q-Play. Knowing the process to exit Pro Mode ensures you can adapt the screen's use as needed and maintain the screen effectively.

1. To leave Pro Mode, enter the following code on the remote control:
      1.1."Info [i+] —> Mute —> Vol + —> HOME".
2. To leave the Q-Play app, enter the code "8920".
