Installation - Q-Play on Sony screen
Introduction
Q-Play is a software program that allows you to display your info screen designs directly on your Sony screen. With Q-Play, you can create and manage exciting content that captures the attention of your guests or colleagues in a simple and effective way. This guide will lead you through the process of downloading, installing, and configuring Q-Play on your Sony device, so you can start presenting your designs and messages with ease.
Notes:
- Model: Q-Play is available for Sony Bravia 9.0 models and newer.
- Compatibility: Confirm that your Sony screen is running on Android 10 or a compatible version, as the installation process is based on this.
- Updates: Ensure the screen's operating system is updated to the latest version to avoid compatibility issues.
- This guide is based on Android 10. Menu variations may occur on different Android versions.
Before Installation
Before starting the installation, it's important to be well-prepared. The following are necessary:
- Startup: Ensure your Sony screen is turned on, and the desired language is selected to proceed with the installation.
- USB Stick: A USB stick is required to transfer the Q-Play APK file to the Sony screen.
- Network Connection: Decide if you will connect your Sony screen via Wi-Fi or a cable connection. It is recommended to use a cable connection to ensure a stable and secure connection.
- File: Download the Q-Play APK file (follow the "Part 1: Installation of Q-Play APK File" section).
- Placement: Choose a location for your Sony screen where it is easily visible at eye level, adjusted for optimal angle to avoid glare, and in an environment with controlled temperature and humidity to ensure durability.
Installation of Q-Play APK File:
1. Open Q-Play Editor: Open the Q-Play editor on your PC and log in with your details.
2. Navigate the Menu: In the menu on the left, select "PlayControl".
3. Inside PlayControl: Click on "New Player" in the top right corner.
4. Download APK: Press the "Download" button next to the Android image to download the APK file.
5. File Transfer: Open "transfer" on your device, and transfer the APK file to your USB stick.
During Installation
Before proceeding, it's essential to ensure all elements are ready for a seamless installation process.
1. Network Connection:
1.1. Choose Network: On the Sony screen, go to Settings > Network and internet and select the desired network.
1.2. It is recommended to use a cable connection for the best internet connection.
2. System Adjustments:
2.1. Go to Settings > System > Power and energy and turn off all settings
2.1.1 turn off power saving.
2.2. Select Settings > System > date and time.
2.2.1. Enable automatic date and time.
2.2.2. Choose the 24-hour format.
2.3. Choose language (If this is not selected at the beginning)
3. Pro Mode Settings:
3.1 Select Pro Mode Tool, followed by Pro Settings Mode.
3.2. Insert the USB stick with the APK file into the screen, go to install APK and choose to install the Q-Play APK file.
3.2.1 Set AC Power to Always ON.
3.2.2. Under initial input source, choose Android app and find Q-Play.
3.2.3. Enable Periodic restart.
3.5.1. Select "Daily"
3.5.2. Set the time for the screen to restart
3.2.3.1. Note that it will take 10 minutes before the activation takes effect.
3.2.4. Navigate to Apps, select Q-Play and Enable the app.
3.2.5. Go to the top and press Start Pro Mode.
After Installation
Once you see the connect code on the screen, as shown in the picture below, Q-Play is installed on the screen and is ready to be connected to a Q-Play account.
To add a design to the screen, follow these steps:
1. Log in to your Q-Play account where the device should be added.
2. Go to the player section.
3. Enter the 6-digit Connect Code from the screen into Q-Play.

Closing Pro Mode Down
You may need to leave Pro Mode or the Q-Play app for several reasons, such as if you need to update the screen's software, change settings not available in Pro Mode, or if you wish to use the screen for purposes other than Q-Play. Knowing the process to exit Pro Mode ensures you can adapt the screen's use as needed and maintain the screen effectively.
1. To leave Pro Mode, enter the following code on the remote control:
1.1."Info [i+] —> Mute —> Vol + —> HOME".
2. To leave the Q-Play app, enter the code "8920".
