How to send us a password securely

Introduction

If we need access to a website, an API key or another secret to build or configure an integration for you, we will never ask you to send it by email. Instead, we send you a secure form that delivers the information directly into our secure vault.

This guide shows you how to open the form, verify your identity and send us one or more passwords.

1. Open the secure form

We send you a link to the secure form. Depending on what you prefer, we can send it to your email or share it with you through another channel. Open the link to get to the verification screen.

2. Fields in the password form

When you add a password, a panel opens with these fields:

Category
Leave this set to Web Account. Do not change it to any other option in the drop-down, even if other categories appear to be available.

Password Name
A short name that shows what the password is for, for example the name of the site or system.

URL
Optional, but preferred if the password is for a specific website. To add more than one URL, select the + icon to add another field.

User Name
The username or account name that goes with the password.

Password
The actual password or secret value.

3. How to send us a password

  1. Enter your email address. Type your email address in the field, and select Verify and Generate OTP.
  2. Enter the code. You receive a one-time code by email. Enter the 6-digit code in the boxes, and select Verify and Proceed.
  3. Select Add Password. Once you are verified, you land on the form's main screen.
  4. Fill in the fields. Enter the details as described in section 2, and leave Category set to Web Account.
  5. Select Save. If you have more than one password for this request, select Save and Add More instead, and repeat steps 4–5 for each password.
  6. Select Submit Form. The password is now listed on the form, and a prompt at the bottom shows how many passwords are ready to submit.
  7. Check the confirmation. A thank-you message confirms that your password has been delivered securely into our vault. No further action is needed on your side.

4. Session and new codes

Didn't receive the code?
Select the here link on the code screen to have it sent again. You can also request a new code once the countdown on the screen has finished.

Session time
The session on the form stays active for 30 minutes. If it expires, verify your identity again from step 1 in section 3.

Why can't I just send the password by email?

Emails stay in inboxes and can be forwarded. The secure form sends the password directly into our vault, so it is never stored in email.

Which category should I choose?

Always leave Category set to Web Account, even if other options appear in the drop-down.

Can I send more than one password at once?

Yes. Select Save and Add More after each password, and select Submit Form when you have added them all.

Do I have to enter a URL?

No, the URL is optional, but it helps us if the password is for a specific website.

What happens if the session expires?

The session lasts 30 minutes. If it expires, open the link again and verify your email with a new code.
