Kanpla - Integration

Setting up the Kanpla Integration

This guide walks you through connecting Kanpla to Q-Play, so your canteen's daily menu can be displayed on screens.

Before you start: You'll need your Kanpla link. This is something you get from Kanpla yourself — Q-Play support isn't able to provide or look this up for you, so make sure you have it ready before starting the setup.

Note: this guide sets up Kanpla as a periodically refreshed screenshot. If you'd rather show the page live (updating instantly, rather than on a refresh schedule), use the web app instead, and simply paste your Kanpla URL into it.

Step 1: Create the integration

Follow our general guide on working with integrations in Q-Play to start a new integration, and choose Kanpla as the type.

Step 2: Credentials — add your Kanpla link

This is Step 3 of 3, and the only Kanpla-specific field in the setup.


  1. Open Kanpla and copy your menu link. It will look something like: https://app.kanpla.dk/s/ABC123DEF4567XYZ
  2. Paste everything that comes after https://app.kanpla.dk into the Kanpla link field — in the example above, that's /s/ABC123DEF4567XYZ.

    This part of the link isn't always the same length or format — it can start with /s/, /screen/, or something else depending on your Kanpla setup. Always copy the full path rather than just the ID at the end.

  3. Click Create Integration.

Step 3: Set up the job

Once the integration is created, you'll land on its detail page — set up a job here just like with any other integration. For Kanpla, there's only one job type available.


Kanpla works by taking a screenshot of your menu and displaying that image, so the job settings are:

  • Job Type — always Screenshot, this is the only option.
  • Refresh schedule — how often Q-Play retakes the screenshot (e.g. every 1 hour, 2 hours, 5 hours). Choose whatever fits how often your menu changes.
  • Image width / height — sets the dimensions of the screenshot. Adjust these if your menu is oriented differently than standard widescreen (16:9) — for example, a portrait-style (9:16) menu.

Click Save Integration once you're done.

Multiple menus or canteens

If you have more than one menu or canteen in Kanpla, you'll need a separate integration for each one — each with its own Kanpla link. A single integration only supports one job/menu.

Summary

  1. Get your Kanpla link from Kanpla before you start — support can't provide this for you.
  2. Create a new integration and choose Kanpla.
  3. Complete Steps 1–2 as usual (see the general integrations guide).
  4. On Step 3, paste the full path from your Kanpla link after https://app.kanpla.dk.
  5. Add a Screenshot job, set your preferred refresh schedule and image dimensions.
  6. Have multiple menus? Set up a separate integration for each one.
