Optimize Content with Q-Play Editor: A Comprehensive Guide

Presentations management

Introduction

Presentations in Q-Play allows users to design and organize digital signage content. This tool offers an intuitive interface that enables the creation of professional presentations efficiently. This guide will help you navigate Presentations, from creating a new presentation to publishing your design.

What can you do in the Presentations menu

Grouping

You can create groups within the Presentation management to better organize your presentations and keep track of where they are used.
To create a new group, click the “New Group” button in the top-right corner, enter a descriptive name, and click “Create Group.”
To rename an existing group, click the three dots next to the group and select “Rename Group.” Enter the new name and click “Rename” to save your changes.
To delete a group, click the three dots next to the group and select “Delete Group.” You will be asked to confirm the deletion before the group is removed. Please note that groups containing presentations cannot be deleted.

New presentaion

To add a new presentation, click the “+ Add Presentation” button in the top-right corner. In the dialog that opens, enter a descriptive name for your presentation and choose which group it should belong to.
Next, select the aspect ratio or canvas size for the presentation. You can:
  1. Choose from one of your favorite sizes.
  2. Enter a custom size.
  3. Select a size from the dropdown menu.
Within the dropdown menu, you can mark your most-used sizes as favorites, by pressing the star to the left, for quicker access in the future.

Once you have configured the settings, click “Create Presentation” to create the presentation.

Edit presentation

To edit an existing presentation, you simply click on the presentation you want to edit, and you will be taken into the editor tool.
  1. You can either click on the presentation.
  2. On the Edit button that appears when hovering on a presentation.
  3. Or the three dots that appear in top right corner of the presentation when hovering, and then edit.

Delete presentation

To delete a presentation, hover over the presentation you want to remove, click the three dots in the corner of the presentation card, and select “Delete Presentation.” You will then be asked to confirm the deletion.

If the presentation is currently assigned to one or more players, it cannot be deleted immediately. In this case, you will see an additional prompt informing you which player(s) the presentation is attached to.
To quickly remove these connections without manually editing each player, click the red break-link icon next to the player name. This will detach the presentation from the player, allowing the presentation to be deleted afterward.

To delete multiple presentations at once, switch to Grid View and select the presentations you want to remove. Then click the “Delete Selected” button in the top-right corner.
Any selected presentations that are not attached to players will be deleted. Presentations currently assigned to players must first be detached before they can be removed.

Search for presentations

If you have many presentations, you can use the search bar to quickly find the presentation you want to edit, manage, or delete. Simply type in the search bar located in the top-left corner next to the “Filters” button.

Filter presentations

To narrow down your presentations, use the “Filters” button next to the search bar.
Here you can filter presentations by:
  1. Group.
  2. Publication status (Published or Draft).
  3. Last modified date.
  4. Planned schedules.
  5. And more.
You can also combine multiple filters to refine your results more efficiently.

Move presentations between groups

To move a presentation from one group to another:
  1. In Grid View, simply drag and drop the presentation into the desired group.
  2. In List View, use the group dropdown menu to select a different group.

Different presentation views

You can switch between different presentation layouts by clicking either the Grid View or List View button in the top-right corner.

Presentation actions

To access the available actions for a presentation, hover over the presentation and click the three dots in the corner. This will open the Presentation Actions menu.
Available actions include:
  1. Edit – Opens the presentation editor, allowing you to modify the content.
  2. Publish – Publishes the presentation and updates connected players with the latest version.
